This is the side door to a resin garage kit by Alder Models of Deep River ON. The building is built from well weathered boards that cried out to have the grain shown up. The parts were sprayed black and then dry brushed using Humbrol oil enamel. This comes in little tins and the paint settles out on the bottom. To get the right thickness of paint, I used a toothpick to get some paint from the bottom of the can. I then put this on a piece of newspaper (a cheap palette) and worked it with a short bristle flat brush until the paint just adhere to the surface but did not fill in the cracks in the boards and the joints. Everything else was painted the same way. The garbage can took all of 3 seconds to paint. The grass is trimmed painted fake fur.
